A Job in Kanairo

Welcome to  Nairobi or, as the masses have so aptly called it, "Kanairo." Don't be deceived by the sky-scrapers or flashy cars.     Look further! The average university leaver, and when I say average, I mean me and my crew, have little prospects of landing a formal job. In Nairobi, a science degree does not mean you will ever step into a lab. As of 2020, 21.7 % of youths 25-29 years were unemployed. What do you do then if you fall in this category? You could consider the kindness of the government and join the Kazi Mtaani program. This ordeal is after six years of surviving in a Kenyan university. An alternative you could consider is Academic writing.   If you know a campus student in Kenya, then chances are high you know precisely what I mean. A student in one of those top universities will pay a Kenyan youth to do assignments or even exams. These students from the other side of the world, where the green is evergreen, will expect high-quality work. ...

The Telling of Undeniably Authentic Kenyan Stories

What do you know about Kenya? Yes, even if you start your sentences with "Me I." Maybe you know we are known for wildlife and athletics. Kenya is also the largest economy in the Eastern Africa region. The country is very peaceful and has the warmest and most generous people you will ever meet. At times it feels that we have the most vibrant political scene the world over. After all, we all are experts. The irritation of hearing the term "the bushes of Africa" has made me write this. My story is similar to many other youths. But I struggle to find a story like mine in all these films and books. How can anyone think I am always begging? I definitely don't party every day.  Kenya has been blessed with great storytellers. Thus, our stories are being told. However, just check the amount of information you can find online about  Kenya.
